CERI and USGS conduct Active Source Surface Wave Experiment in NMSZ

The Center for Earthquake Research and Information (CERI) at the University of Memphis and the USGS have set off the first of two underground explosions on Oct. 28, 2002. The explosion took place just before 10:00 p.m. near Marked Tree, Arkansas. Researcher, Chuck Langston, is one of the lead scientists working on the experiments. Another larger blast occurred on Oct. 29, 2002, near Mooring, Tennessee.
