NSF Completes Summative Site Visit of the MAE Center

The Mid-America Earthquake Center completed its NSF Summative Site Visit on June 11 - 12, 2008 at the Alice Campbell Alumni Center on the Campus of the University of Illinois.  On June 11 presentations were by MAE Center thrust leaders that highlighted the major accomplishments from the Center's research thrusts over the past 10 years.  Additional presentations were made on diversity impacts, education and outreach impacts, the Center's post graduation business plan, and a vision for the future by MAE Center Director, Amr Elnashai.  Industry stakeholder and former and current MAE Center student panel discussions were also featured.  A graduation celebration reception and dinner took place that evening.  

On June 12 the MAEviz development team conducted a demonstration of the MAEviz software.  Also taking place was the final meeting between the MAE Center leadership team and its Executive Advisory Board.  The day concluded with the NSF site visit team drafting its final site visit report of the MAE Center.
