China Sends Delegation to Study Earthquake Disaster Mitigation

MAE Center meets with Delegation from China's Disaster Prevention Science and Technology University

A delegation from China's Disaster Prevention Science and Technology University (DPSTU), visited UIUC on March 4 and 5. The DPSTU is focused on education of disaster resistance and prevention and has just been promoted from a college to university. It is under the China Earthquake Administration (CEA), the main earthquake engineering body in China. In order to learn advanced education experience in the field of earthquake disaster mitigation and preparedness technology, the CEA sent the delegation to visit some top universities in the United States. The delegation was led by Mr. Ming Zhao, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, China Earthquake Administration.
