Student Leadership Council

The Student Leadership Council was formed on October 22, 1999, and is composed of representatives from the core institutions that comprise the Mid-America Earthquake Center. Both graduate and undergraduate students serve on the SLC with a chair and vice chair elected for one-year terms. The SLC is a component of the MAE Center infrastructure and contains social and supportive elements in which students can share their research experiences by exchanging information and learning of new opportunities through fellow member interactions. The goal of the SLC is to link student researchers from all MAE Center institutions through cross and multi-disciplinary activities that accomplish the following objectives:

Facilitate communication among students

Support collaboration among projects

Promote professional development

Provide opportunities for outreach and community service

Act as a liaison between students and Center administration
