MAE Center Participates in USGS Earthquake Conference

    

 Amr Elnashai briefs the audience at the Preparing for a Significant Central U.S. Earthquake Conference on Phase I results from the FEMA New Madrid Catastrophic Planning Project. 

 

On August 13-14, the MAE Center staff attended the New Madrid Seismic Zone Conference titled “Preparing for a Significant Central U.S. Earthquake.”  The conference was held in Rolla, MO on the campus of the Missouri University of Science and Technology.  MAE Center Director, Dr. Amr Elnashai, was an invited speaker. Dr. Elnashai’s presentation slides, which summarized the Center’s Phase 1 results for the FEMA New Madrid Catastrophic Planning Project, can be found here.  Dr. Elnashai also briefed the audience on the planned activities for Phase II of the project.

The MAE Center also participated as an exhibitor at the conference.  The MAE Center’s exhibit featured information on past and current projects as well as MAE Center reports.  The flyers can be found here and MAE Center reports can be downloaded from the IDEALS website. Also you can take a look at the booth slide show.
