Graduate Research Assistant Field Mission 1999
Four MAE Center research assistants joined the earthquake engineering class of Imperial College in London to tour earthquake research laboratories in northern Italy. The recipients of the first-ever MAE Center Field Mission Fellowships visited laboratories at Milan Polytechnical University, the University of Pavia, ISMES in Bergamo and the European Laboratory for Structural Assessment (ELSA) at the Joint Research Centre in Ispra. Education Program Coordinator, Professor Phil Gould accompanied the fellows along with Professor Amr Elnashai of Imperial College.
